Tonight is the first night of many that I will be away from the people I love most.
It is the first night I will spend with a stranger who will not be a stranger to me much longer.
It is a step into the wild and unknown.
Have you ever walked in someone else's footsteps along a beach, or through snow? You carefully place your foot where someone's else's had been, being careful not to mess them up - they look so clear and crisp laying there. You feel as though you could follow them home.
I feel that way now. Like God walked from Minnetonka to Zimmerman, and left me a note asking to follow Him. It was a phone call from a distant love, it was a beckoning.
Looking around I feel overwhelmed and strange. Lost and yet found. I've never felt less at peace about my life, yet more confident that each step I take is right. My prints are invisible as I follow in His. I am untraceable.
There is freedom in the knowledge that He's got it all under control.
What an awesome God we serve.
